		<description>I couldn&#039;t agree more.  As a software developer I find myself appalled with the notion that a government sponsored agency thinks that they can standardize a software requirements specification. To anyone outside of health care this is a preposterous notion so why should it be legit inside? CCHIT stifles innovation and competition by creating an insurmountable barrier to entry for small companies into the EMR market.  IMHO it should be scrapped and maybe go back to what really matters here: standard data interchange formats. Although I haven&#039;t heard too much about HL7 et al lately either... sigh...</description>
